This Week’s Theme: Tunnels 🛤️

Tunnels show up in many forms on our runs.

There’s the visual appeal light bursting through a tunnel and the thrill of running through one to the other side.

A recent trend in tunnel design has also seen more playfulness added to their design to reduce visual fatigue for drivers on long journeys. This can take the form of neon lighting, abstract artwork, vibrant colours, or even scenes depicting the landscapes they’re cutting through. Much more than just a passage to travel through, these fun additions can also offer a slice of adventure and visual respite from the monotony of road running.

Then there’s tunnel vision. We’ve all also experienced tunnel vision in a race setting or longer distance runs, mustering all our willpower to cross the finish line.
