Joy Run #52: Tides 🌊
March's run theme.
It’s the first of a new month - which means a new theme to run to.
But first… thank you.
To everyone who embraced February’s Quiet Nature challenge 🍂 - braving the elements to notice the stillness in your runs. Your misty parks, bare branches and encounters with nature were exactly what we hoped for: calm, simple, beautiful.
It was also a joy to shine a light on four run clubs making running inclusive, varied and fun in their own way. Community looks different everywhere - and that’s the point.
Don’t forget to check out our run club directory to find your new local run crew.
This Month’s Run Theme: Tides 🌊
Ebbing and flowing.
March feels like that too.
Energy returning. Light stretching. Mornings softening.
A quiet shift from stillness to movement.
This month’s run theme is about rhythm - the rise and fall you notice when you’re moving.
It might be coastal paths and sea air.
Or canals cutting through the city.
Or crowds swelling and thinning on your usual loop.
Or golden hour arriving - slow, glowing, hopeful.
Or golden hour fading - softer, flickering, gone again.
Or simply your breath settling into its own steady flow.
Tides aren’t just about water. They’re about motion.
About coming and going. The theatre of life.
Be open to wonder on your run.
Notice what rises. Notice what eases.
Go with the flow.
As always, don’t forget to share your run pics on Instagram, tagging in Joy Runs! 📸
