Joy Run #36: Spring 🌸
Put a spring in your step!
Running’s beauty is it’s a year-round sport.
Each season bringing a different set of backdrops, colour palettes and joys.
Now that we’re fully in the swing of Spring, we thought we’d run in tune with nature’s rhythm this time of year.
This Week’s Theme: Spring 🌸

Spring means golden fields and blue skies. Warmer weather and longer days. Hibernation wake-ups and dawn’s chorus. Trees in leaf and baby animals. Longer runs and race season. Ice lollies at halfway and al fresco post-run eats. Fewer layers and rain showers. An abundance of routes and extra reasons to get out.
There’s lots to love about running in Spring.
So, this week, we’re inviting you to pay close attention to everything Spring adds to a run. By being thankful and showing appreciation with a picture, it can boost happiness and encourage us to embark on more frequent runs.

Article: The Joy of Going Music-Free on a Run
Modern life is stressy and messy.
I love running to music, but occasionally unplugging and running music-free can be a wonderful tonic and precious downtime.
It’s borrowed from the trend of enduring long-haul flights without any entertainment or sleep, besides the digital map on the screen in front of your seat. A way to practice discipline, if not discomfort, in pursuit of a mental reset and recharge.
Far less extreme, running without music has all the benefits, without any downsides.
In this article we’ll explore the joy of stripping back your runs. From fostering a deeper connection to nature and finding inner calm, to being more alert to wonder and even improving your technique.
