Joy Run #39: Patterns šŸŒ€

The joy of playful shapes.

Thanks to everyone who took part in last week’s ā€œMusicā€ run theme. I loved learning about the tunes that power your runs!

I’d like to extend the thanks to this week’s sponsor: Pique - purveyor of healthy supplements, such as matcha tea. Please support Joy Runs by visiting the Pique link a bit further down this email šŸ’š

This Week’s Theme: Patterns šŸšŸ¦ššŸŒ€

Ever since learning about razzle dazzle ships and crop circles at school, I’ve been fascinated by patterns.

Patterns are everywhere. In nature, architecture, and abstract art. Even Strava shape challenges, where runners create fun virtual patterns on the Strava app from run route.

Natural patterns include spirals, spots, meanders, waves, tiling, bubbles, cracks, and those created by symmetries of rotation and reflection.

Equal part playful and rooted in science and spirituality, they can’t help but raise a smile.

That’s why, this week, Joy Runs is about the visual pleasure brought about by patterns.
